I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all! Not in my life

I think 3 Days Grace said it best, "I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all!" I think that couldn't be more accurate than in today's world. Pain? Take a pill. Unhappy? Take a pill. Mind is different? Take a pill. Don't want to change habits? Take a pill. Someone doesn't agree with you? Swipe left. Now this whole society is left with poor mental health, no emotions, and no idea where to go. I know many of you feel this. No longer caring. Whatever. Not my problem. We are so hurt and we need to take some of that blame. We let this happen. And we are doing nothing to stop it. The biggest emotions running through our veins are fear and sadness which quickly lead to anger. So many of us get into bad relationships or keep people around that hold us back, simply to feel. To feel welcomed. To feel at home. To feel anything. What would happen if our first instinct when meeting someone who doesn't fit your "standard" of people to meet was love instead of isolation? What if I met someone who thought the Las Vegas Raiders were cool and I hugged them instead of reminding them they haven't won a playoff game in 20 years and have the worst point differential during that time by far? What if you meet someone that thinks mushrooms are tasty and don't just grow on poop and rot and we can connect on how tasty omelets are instead? Today, I implore you to find someone that doesn't match you. Get out of your damn house and connect. Find a stranger, and have a 3-minute conversation. Find 3 things you have in common. Then smile at the good work you have done. And enjoy the happiness that comes with it. Stay healthy. #mentalhealthmatters
